Manufactory

– together we create growth through knowledge in your production

Manufactory is a growth technology centre where companies and researchers work closely together on specific production challenges – from automation and process optimisation to digitalisation and sustainable transition. We translate research and new knowledge into action, providing your company with solutions that increase efficiency, make production more sustainable and strengthen competitiveness.

We create growth through knowledge

Welcome to Manufactory – our growth technology centre for manufacturing companies. Here, your key employees meet with researchers to find solutions to challenges that standard technologies and existing solutions cannot handle.

We work with process optimisation, technology development, digitalisation, sustainability and material improvements with one common goal: to make your production more efficient, green and competitive – also in international markets.

Growth through knowledge is at the heart of everything we do. We translate research-based knowledge into concrete solutions that deliver measurable results. Not all challenges can be resolved there and then, and some call for entirely new research. But through interdisciplinary collaboration, practical testing and close dialogue, your company will gain access to new knowledge, advanced facilities and methods that will strengthen production now and in the long term.

When existing solutions are not enough

As head of production, you know that some challenges cannot be resolved based on experience, internal resources or standard technologies alone. When complexity increases and existing solutions no longer work, new knowledge, new technologies and new ways of working are needed, including for example:

›› digitalisation of complex production processes
›› supply chain optimisation and automation
›› development of new, more sustainable materials or products
›› integration of new technology into existing production
›› reduction of waste, energy consumption and carbon footprint

Together, we develop innovative solutions that strengthen your production, increase efficiency and increase your competitive edge.

What does your company gain from collaborating with us?

For many manufacturing companies, innovation may seem both risky and costly. At Manufactory, we help your company develop and test concrete solutions to your challenges. Not just on paper, but for real in production.

Together, we translate new knowledge into methods, technologies and processes that can be scaled up and create measurable impact. This enables your company to optimise production, reduce waste, strengthen your competitiveness and show the way in a constantly evolving market.

Participation is free of charge. All you have to do is allocate the time and resources appropriate to the scale of the challenge. In return, you get to collaborate with researchers who will work closely with you to create solutions that work in the real world.

What you get:

  • Concrete results – not just ideas on a whiteboard, but solutions ready for testing and implementing.
  • Research-based development – access to new knowledge and methods you will not find anywhere else.
  • New perspectives – when researchers and external knowledge partners look at your challenge with fresh eyes.
  • Less risk – because you can test and validate new technologies before implementing them.
  • Greater competitiveness – through a more efficient, sustainable and scalable production setup.

Manufactory works with cases

All cases taken on by Manufactory, including yours, are always based on a concrete challenge, often in the areas of sustainable production, automation, digitalisation or process optimisation.  The collaboration is based on the real-world challenges and needs of your company. We identify the challenges, design the process and put together a multidisciplinary team of researchers who are dedicated to developing solutions that can make a difference to your production.

A collaboration is carried out as a case study over one to two years and consists of the following steps:

1. Identifying the challenge

Your company identifies a specific challenge that you are unable to resolve yourself and that requires new knowledge or technology. Together, we draw up a plan, align our expectations and sign the collaboration agreement.

2. Case kick-off

The team is composed of your specialists, our researchers and possibly a number of knowledge partners. The problem is described in further detail, roles are defined, and the collaboration begins. We conduct a baseline measurement to ensure the impact of the initiative can be documented.

3. Development and testing

The team develops and tests new ideas, processes and technologies – always with a focus on both technological and commercial gains. Along the way, we continuously evaluate the effect and adjust the process as needed.

4. Evaluation and implementation

The results are tested and implemented in your production. We evaluate short-term and long-term effects, document the case for research purposes and ensure your company achieves concrete improvements, new opportunities and a solid basis for decision-making in the future. The solutions are designed for independent operation and further development after the conclusion of the case.
