Centre for Energy Technologies

- developing the energy systems of the future

Centre for Energy Technologies (CET) is a research centre at Aarhus University in Herning. We conduct research into the development of future energy systems, with a particular focus on renewable energy technologies, electricity, energy efficiency and hydrogen. Our work explores how new energy solutions can be put into practice and help drive the green transition.

New demands on energy systems

Energy systems are developing in a field shaped by new technologies, digitalisation, changing markets and regulation. This calls for a holistic understanding and interdisciplinary solutions.

At CET, we work at the intersection of technology, organisation, economics and governance. We combine experimental data with analytical and design-oriented methods to generate research-based insights into complex energy systems.

Our ambition is to contribute to solutions that are technically robust, organisationally viable and economically sustainable.

Research and education

CET is part of the engineering environment at the Department of Business Development and Technology. Our research feeds directly into teaching – particularly on the MSc in Engineering (Technology Based Business Development) programme. Here, we combine technical insight with systems thinking and market-oriented perspectives.
