Hands-on learning: Economics and Business Administration visits B&O in Struer

On Monday, 6 October, 85 students from Economics and Business Administration took their classes off campus and headed to Bang & Olufsen in Struer. There, they gained a unique insight into how theory meets practice as they were introduced to seven concrete business challenges from the company. These are the challenges they will continue to work on throughout the rest of the semester.

B&O employees presented cases within areas such as finance, procurement and customer service, and the students had the opportunity to ask questions and discuss the specific challenges. The visit provided them with a solid foundation for developing solutions, which they will later present to B&O in November.

In addition, B&O offered a guided tour of the showroom, where BeoHome and the monobrand concept made a strong impression on the students. The day concluded with excellent catering and plenty of opportunities for networking and dialogue between students and employees.

At AU Herning, we work purposefully to integrate business collaboration into our teaching to strengthen students’ competencies and create closer ties between education and industry.

A big thank you to B&O, and especially to Antonia Petkov, Jette Nygaard and Helle Møller Pilgaard, for an inspiring and professionally organised day.
