Does your company need development of a website or web-based platform to solve a specific problem or to promote the company? Our students work with developing a wide variety of web-based solutions for all kinds of organisations, from small start-ups to public services and well-established companies.
Working in close collaboration with the company providing the project, the students can develop functional web-based interfaces that comply with the latest industry standards and can form the basis for the development of complete, releasable solutions.
Using user-centred development (UCD) and user experience development (UXD) methods, the students gain a clear understanding of the platform’s users, which will allow them to develop tailor-made solutions for the company.
What can the company expect from this project?
- A tailor-made web-based prototype: The students will work to develop a web-based prototype that fulfils the expectations of both the company and the end users.
- User analysis: The students will identify the needs and expectations of the end users as well as the company’s requirements. The prototype will be accompanied by a report explaining the choices made by the students based on the technologies and UCD/UXD methods.
- Scalable prototype: The students can further develop the platform to deliver a polished releasable product, either in a student job or as part of the technology-based product development projects.
What is required by the company?
- A concrete need for a web-based solution.
- Access to digital material such as text, images, pictures, logos, etc. It is important that the students are provided with all the content for the project. Proofreading and rights to the images/graphical material used in the project are the responsibility of the company.
- Access to end users for research and testing purposes. Students have to be allowed to interview and contact end users throughout the development of the prototype.
- Conduct of meetings with the students during the course of the project.
- Payment of all expenses related to the development of the prototype such as web hotel hosting, domain name, royalty fees for images.
